Lionfish Removal and Awareness Day (the first Saturday after Mother’s Day each year) was created by FWC Commissioners to raise awareness about lionfish, a nonnative, invasive species that have a potential negative impact on native species and habitat.

Welcome! Have you ever eaten one of these guys? They are amazing. I love that FL has initiatives for removing them. I have seen pictures where there are hundreds of them on the ocean floor.
I have not eaten one. Although I would like to, I have not had the opportunity to do so. I have seen some amazing looking lionfish dishes online. I cannot wait to try one of them!
