I've always been curious if this is actually something worth paying our if it's just popular because it's so weird.
Also, you're not really "playing" it's more like you're "reading" since it's kind of a Visual Novel. It's fun though! If you don't like to read, then I'd suggest skipping Hatoful Boyfriend. Plus, not sure if you'd like the idea of hooking up with Pidgeons.
It's worth playing. The dating sim is the main part of the game and it's funny and quirky. But there's also an extra storyline that gives the world and the various birds you encountered context. I won't spoil it, but let's just say the story gets disturbing and kind of dark. The sequel is equally good, but it's not a dating sim at all. It's more of a graphic novel.
