Heavy Rains Bring Mosquitos and West Nile Virus to the Midwest
Heavy rains in the Midwest has introduced a thicker-than-usual mosquito season in Ohio. And with, unfortunately, there may also be a rise in West Nile Virus cases over the next several months. As a matter of fact, mosquito pools from five separate health jurisdictions throughout the state have already tested positive for West Nile virus. These jurisdictions include: Summit County (3 cases), Licking County (2), and Columbus, Richland, and Franklin counties each with one case apiece .
