that's why I have/had so much hope for the Mars-One program. I've never believed in it enough to contribute, but I really do hope that it, or a similar project makes it off the ground.
I think a non-government sanctioned trip might have the best success.
Man on Mars will be our generations Moon landing. Make it freaking happen, and not in a sound stage this time (I kid, I kid... conspiracy and anti-conspiracy nuts put down your pitchforks, we be talking about Mars here, just chill).
All we need to do is find some oil on Mars. We'll be there so fast the laws of physics will feel sore.
