That is one thing that after it has been said, makes so much sense as someone who wears glasses. Personally, I just wrote off VR as I did for 3D movies. "perhaps modify the images the wearer sees in accordance with his vision." this probably would be for the best, as then you can have user profiles, and let family/friends all share the device, without constantly switching out lenses, as I still hold the mentality of "passing around the controller/gameboy" from growing up on consoles.
