It's really sad that something as important as a good education isn't prioritized in America. I was lucky enough to grow up in a school district that had a library, however, not too far away from me were totally nonfunctional city school districts that received little to no funding for something like a working library. I understand that there are a lot of other things they need before they open and maintain a library. still, it's incredibly disappointing to see this happening to the education system and I hope that people soon realize how important having a library is for the future, I mean these kids will be in charge of the country someday!
It's amazing how many people to Internet access for granted and just assume everyone has it. We had very slow connection and in a rural area no choice. It was very frustrating until recently we got fast wireless broadband. I was forever doing stuff for people who had no access because so much can only be done online now.
We should just make all students part of one massive online library. Everyone has at least one device to access the internet at home right? No need for physical libraries.
