Schools Fear Impact of Gay Marriage Ruling on Tax Status
Conservative religious schools all over the country forbid same-sex relationships, from dating to couples living in married-student housing, and they fear they will soon be forced to make a wrenching choice. I went to a Christian school and there were definitely gay kids. They weren't closed but they also weren't having gay pride parades and being extremely open about it. The school was also adamantly for abstinence. Heterosexual or homosexual, I think the main thing they want is people to leave their sexuality at the door. While I am 100% for gay rights, I don't think it's OK to force schools to have to change their atmosphere to be open about sexuality and orientation. As long as they aren't discriminating against anyone and allowing gay and lesbian students to be enrolled.
Oh, you're thinking of the forced gay pride parade case! This is about the gay marriage case. I can see why you were confused as they both involve gays. You must have had a shitty prom if everyone left their sexually at the door, but gay marriage isn't going to force anyone to have fun at school, so you're in the clear there.
I'm not sure if a private Christian school should be forced to allow gay couples are prom
Should it be legal to discriminate against interracial couples? How about gingers?
You said that everyone should leave their sexuality at the door, and that you're 100% for gay rights, and that schools should not be discriminating. Now you're changing your tune on all of that and instead saying that straight relationships should be permissible, but not gay relationships. It seem like you might want to reflect on this issue a bit more.
