When Abdul-Ali Muhammad returned to Bridgeport, Connecticut, in 1975 after a year of military service, he felt that something had fundamentally changed. He started hearing voices and sounds that other people didn’t hear, and severe anxiety kept him from sleeping at night. Interesting article. I hope in the future there will be more support in allowing people with mental health issues to work if they can. But the destigmatization needs to happen first.
