Death of a Diploma Mill: University of Phoenix Going Down in Flames?
The troubled online university might have finally been dealt dual deathblows as they announced an FTC investigation and a 54% drop in enrollment. On Wednesday, University of Phoenix’s parent company Apollo Education Group announced that the business and marketing practices of the for-profit school are now under investigation by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

Good riddance. However, if this signals a larger correction in the value of higher education I wonder what the fallout will be for private and public universities? Many have made long term investments based on the current over-inflated value of a degree.
I think we've already seen the cracks in the future of higher education. Dropping the SAT/ACT. Free community colleges. Ridiculous job requirements, or "highly desired" of Master's and PhDs for entry level positions. It's all money driven bullshit.
The two things I learned in college that I still use today.
1. nose grease is awesome at taking the head off beer and soda 2. it's ok to like both Bozo the Clown and Shakespeare.

People are finally hearing about how awful this place is an avoiding it. Couldn't be happier.
I thought it was common knowledge. I guess not many people lurk around the internet like myself.
From what I hear, one of their major targets were Veterans looking to make use of their GI bill. Just terrible, really.
Those schools are such a rip-off. Community college is a much cheaper and better option.
