It's kinda both. It's more apt to compare homosexuality to religion than race. I'm Christian, and I'm not changing that, but the only way Christianity manifests itself is in behavior. Church attendance, wearing a cross, not doing certain things, praying, reading the bible, etc. no one knows I'm Christian unless I act on it, or talk about it. I'd still feel Christian and consider myself Christian whether or not I ever did anything about it, but outside of my head, it's about things I do or don't do. I think this is where the right messes up. They think because all they see is acts, that's all that's there. Gays know better because they live that experience. But it's hard to let someone else have your thoughts, so it's hard to convince people that the thoughts are real and deep.
