I hike a lot in Hong Kong, and dotted throught the countryside are solitary family plots, some forgotten and overgrown, some kept immaculate. There are even big old green bone jars, vessels that just sit there in the open under some sort of shelter. those are the remains of people buried for several years, then dug up, cleaned and arranged in a certain configuration so the whole body fits in the jar.

    Re: Vietnamese ritual reburial

There has got to be another way to look up the people you see at a funeral again in a few years. Karaoke, for instance?

Are you kidding me? Have you ever been to a Vietnamese karaoke? Taking them apart and scrubbing their bones is more merciful for all involved.
