Our company is using WeWorks for some parts of our business in both NYC and just recently Shanghai. They manage our space....lets see them try and ban meat in NYC and China in their holier than thou fake program. There will be pastrami on rye sit ins in NYC....and the Chinese will bring in whole roasted pigs, complete with lit up red eyes.
The lit up red eyes bit, that's a regular thing?
Oh most definitely....especially at a wedding banquet. It's the traditional first course and its pageantry. All of the waiters line up out of sight, the lights are turned down low and suckling pigs with glowing red eyes (LEDs now) laid out on silver platters are paraded around the room and each table gets one. No kidding! http://www.foodiechat.com/whole-suckling-pig-sky-phoenix/
From dinners at Chinese friends' houses, I'd imagined the more horrific entrees thataway would involve fish heads. Gotta admit, the glowing coal eyes business doesn't bother me as much as the I-don't-think-I-even-wanna-know 'suckling.'
