There’s no way current energy methods are sustainable with this bitcoin stuff. Does this mean crypto currency is paving the way for mass green energy?
It surely means extra energy demand especially where energy is cheap, which becomes awkward as the energy cost of extracting energy approaches the energy yielded. Imagine a large building's essentially flat roof with limited drainage on a dark and stormy night. The accumulating water shifting about on the roof is, in a sense, a massively parallel real-time problem solving system working out feasible failure models with a swirling, sloshing, vortice and eddy-filled vector field. The odds can very quickly move, and not necessarily to the roof's favor. It's bad enough when one has active, intelligent adversaries working against one, worse when the system sets itself on a calculus of one's ruin. There are those that call cryptocurrencies 'prosecution futures.' Me, I think they might be more like flared jeans or padded shoulders.
