It still deeply saddens me that we did this to Japan. Deliberately targeting the two cities with the highest civilian populations, of a foe whose navy and air force we had already defeated. We were in the perfect position to just blockade Japan until they surrendered. But no... we had to make a point, one that somehow wasn't called out as a war crime.
I really wish my country didn't have this and the treatment of the Native Americans in our legacy.
