A very sobering and profound article. The Chinese went to war with Britain to get opium out of the country for the very reasons stated in this article. Opium was legal everywhere and the British Empire and it's opium dealers were racking in the cash from Asia , the US and Europe. The devastation it caused soon became apparent and it was banned by responsible governments.
Now we have a government complicit with pharma business in making it legally appropriate to dispense a poison already recognized as a dangerous substance...and people trust the government that has been in place for many years? It is a congress of criminals.
Agreed, it's absurd pretending the smack crisis is anything but intentional government policy. We've been at war in Afghanistan for 16 years, 4 months, and 28 days, but we're supposed to be surprised that there's an uptick in opiates on the world market? Past is prologue.
