They don't just "carry" rabies, it kills them after an incubation period. There is something far more worry some about the raccoon than rabies which is often overlooked..It's their symbiotic relationship with a roundworm. While it's mentioned in the article,they don't go into the gory details,if they did,people would see this animal and it's potential for harm very differently.
