I made the move away from Microsoft 12 years ago and I'm happy as a lark. Right now I'm using ElementaryOS.

That's a great introduction to Arch. I first used Antergos after several failed "hardcore beginners guide installs". But, after a few months of tinkering and complying to the easy way ("The Dark Side" according to purists) I've had enough of it. Not sure if they were all boasting on the forums about their vanilla installs, I found the guts to try it again. Et voila! My guess is that using the "Dark Side" was actually very helpful to get sufficient knowledge about Arch. I went to bed at six in the morning, after four or five installs and lots of tinkering and trying various options. Arch + Mate = My Kinda Linux. :-)

Edit: My screenfetch. It's high in usage of RAM, because of all the software running (multiple tabs in chromium), video on vlc, claws mail and an ftp client (filezilla) to top it of. Without all of that, just Linux and Mate, it's about 220 MB. :-)

For me Arch is just too much work. I'm tired of tinkering and had rather just have something that just works. I have Manjaro on a thumb drive now now and am going to tinker with it a bit and see what i think. Not sure if I'll install it or not. Plenty of time to decide.I have several other distros I plan to try. Two people on our forum use Manjaro and like it.

That's what I like about Linux and Open Source in general: you choose what suits you and if it doesn't, you can easily adjust it to your wishes or needs. Plus: good (online) communities. :-)
