A HongKonger here. It is very ridiculous to charge the woman and sentence her, claiming that she assaulted the police officer with her breast. She was charged in an anti-grey goods protest which aimed to uphold the interest of local people. Police in Hong Kong are politically controlled by the government. And the government doesn't even care about what Hong Kong people do or say, it is just a puppet controlled by China. That's why the power of police keeps increasing and they can almost do whatever they want. The relationship of Hong Kong and China is really complicated. Many of locals want to get rid of the hand of China, but it just keeps affecting us after the handover and the impact is like snowball which keeps rolling big. White Terror has spreading super quickly in Hong Kong over the past few years. And I fear that Hong Kong is no longer the place it was, no corruption, the centre of Asia, since the handover in 1997.

    Assaulted...with her breast? How..?

Very strange situation with an appropriately strange protest.

Ng Lai-ying had previously told the court that she yelled "indecent assault" out of fear immediately after chief inspector Chan's hand landed on her left breast when he failed to grab the strap of her bag, the South China Morning Post reported.

But magistrate Michael Chan Pik- kiu said she "used her female identity to trump up the allegation that the officer had molested" her, calling that a malicious act and harming the officer's reputation, the Post reported earlier.

Weird. Judging by the quotes chosen, it doesn't look like anyone involved actually says she assaulted the police officer with her breast. Rather, the judge says she lied about being molested when the police officer accidentally touched her breast.

Feels like there's something missing in the article.
