This is FB and their business model. Do the smart thing and just stop using it.
Or at least use disconnect.me (a plugin that kills all the facebook connect stuff)
I've heard good things about Ghostery. Havn't tried though.

It works well. It does insist on telling you every tracker it's saving you from... Feature or bug? Unsure.

Anyone else find it ironic that the very website the article is hosted on is also using facebook to track you?
Wow this is huge news. But you should also look up browser fingerprinting... it's easier to track you than you think, regardless of facebook.
It's basically common knowledge that FB maintains "shadow profiles" for people not logged in to the service.
