I've driven the Dalton a couple times, and my only thoughts are that as long as you drive slow, it's not that bad of a road. I wouldn't drive it with bald tires and no spare, but (knock on wood) I've never had a flat on that road, despite putting several thousand miles on the highway (I basically lived on the Dalton for two summers for work).
