    Uh, the extraordinary expansion of executive power happened under Bush. Short memories is the biggest problem with Americans. Most people have the attention span of a gnat.

      I’m no expert, but as I understand it, anyone with half a clue knows the Bush Administration was a rogues’ gallery of criminals against humanity, let alone our Constitution.

      The criticism here is that Obama, as the first president to come in after the moral and legal depravity of Dubya’s two terms, normalized everything the Bushies’d done. His chief contribution was to give those extra-Constitutional excesses the color of law.

      It, apparently, goes without saying that the George W. Bush presidency was when the nation went mad.
