Respect for him to go out and admit it and say it how it is.

Too bad. Nintendo always makes the funnest games. They might be behind on graphics but it always makes up for it with great exclusives that are truly fun and polished.

They should release some of their older titles (2 years or over) onto iphones and androids.

Nintendo should try something retro-revolutionary next time! Perhaps they could provide two to four(identical) controllers(remotes and nunchuks) with every wii(next one) and concentrate on split screen play. When I was younger it was really good fun to have your friends round and play outrun, Mario, sonic or excite bike against each other when it was raining! Another bonus was being able to pick up a controller and just play, this is still where Nintendo excels!

The large tablet controller function could be implemented using a tablet or smartphone app, the technology is there now! They could dramatically lower the cost of the console, even to the point of losing money on it, more console sales means more gamers, more gamers means more Mario sold.

Next Generation they might have to think about the following: Blu-ray/DVD/CD player(just basic functionality and Region Free), BBC Iplayer, Netflix, 4OD, Spotify etc. Things which turn the console into a must have device without the crap. They could split it into two: The Gaming(its own store/control panel) and the Media Centre(its own store/control panel).

Nintendo are good at building simple, reliable devices which do the job but they need to keep up with the times whilst not over complicating things like Microsoft and Sony do, this is what people want.

People want reliability, simplicity, features and fun! Nintendo have three of the aforementioned with simplicity and reliability being able to lower the amount of fun if they are compromised!

More split screen games = more socialising which in turn = more fun More Features = More simplicity(less clutter, get rid of DVD Player, get rid of Cable and Satellite Boxes) if done right More Simplicity = More fun and less frustration More Fun = More customers More Customers = More Money

People are really into great graphics along with great gameplay. If Nintendo would put a little more time into graphics, it would easily outsell the other two.

Better graphics = higher cost = higher price. That's a strategy they've always stayed away from.
