Windows 8 was a flop, 8.1 didn't fix it and then the fiasco of Windows 10 forced updates, forced spyware, constant telemetry data, ads in the explorer, ads in the start menu, ads in the notifications bar, etc... Windows Phone 7 failed, Windows Phone 8 did better but ultimately failed when they couldn't get apps, Windows 10 Mobile wasn't ready for 99% of devices, only a few devices even got the update, it's a major failure that is all but discontinued. Windows quit licensing cheap netbooks and good but cheap laptops, now they prefer the 500-1000 dollar range and then have their own Surface range to compete with Apple... people are choosing to use the phones they already have or opt for the lower cost computers because most people only needed that cheap netbook for Facebook and email... Windows as a Service has failed, and with all this failure comes layoffs, how did nobody see it coming? Or more likely those anti-poaching clauses used by tech firms that don't allow their workers to get jobs with other tech firms screwed the ones that did see it coming.
