Why a dazed deer in Tennessee had hair growing from its eyeballs
A whitetail deer was found stumbling through the streets of Farragut, Tennessee, with thick hair growing out of both of its eyeballs. The hair protruded from discs of flesh covering both the buck's cornea — the transparent part of the eye that covers the iris and pupil. The bizarre condition, called corneal dermoids, has been documented in just one other whitetail in the state of Tennessee, according to Quality Whitetails magazine, the journal of the National Deer Association.

A Middle Tennessee girl's ex-boyfriend is behind bars after he and a friend allegedly tried to light her on fire. According to the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office, the 15-year-old girl's 17-year-old boyfriend sloshed gasoline on her, ignited a lighter, then threatened to burn her. Police say the boy forced himself into the Fall Creek Drive home and demanded $300 from her. He also threatened to "cut her head off" in front of her grandmother and a roommate, each also in the home at the time.

Proposed Amendment Would Insert God Into Tennessee Constitution
The Tennessee Senate yesterday passed House Joint Resolution 37, which aims to add one line to the Tennessee Constitution: “that liberties do not come from government, but from Almighty God.” Needless to say, there really is no need for this constitutional amendment. The Tennessee Constitution is serving the state just fine. And, with 85 percent of Tennesseans identifying as believers in God, religion in the state appears to be doing just fine too.
