Thank you for the link! This looks like a handy tool for someone that wants to alter a photo quickly.

Perhaps you can help me with one thing- I was playing around with the crop and resize, and wasn't able to create an image that wasn't just a bit distorted. Am I doing something wrong? Maybe it includes a bit of math to get the right proportions?

The crop won't or shouldn't distort or affect the aspect ratio but the resize can. Just make sure in the resize that if you type in numbers, only type in only one of height or width and let the other dimension fill out automatically.

Oh I see what I was doing wrong. Ya, this is a great way of cropping photos. I was getting hung up on using the crop tool first. Resizing the width to 1680 and keeping the proportions then using the crop with 1680x153 dimensions worked perfectly. I hope other snapzu users try this tool.

I did it a certain order but I'm not sure that matters exactly.

When I did the resize, I just typed in 1680 in the width box and it automatically worked out the height. If you're cutting your banner out of a wider picture you might want to start with the width crop first, just getting the part you want but making sure it's not smaller than 1680x153.

Then resize the picture to 1680 width and it should do a plain scale with the same aspect.

Then a crop to height 153 px. Move the crop selection to the spot you want.
