Cyberpunk 2077 will include full nudity for a very important reason
The genre is about so much more than fast cars and slick guns. The team at CD Projekt Red came to E3 this year with an enormous demo for its next game, Cyberpunk 2077. Coming in at 50 minutes in length, the demo was as much a showcase of the game’s feature set as it was a statement about CD Projekt Red’s capabilities as a studio. But, as impressive as that demo was, there was still one portion of it that elicited giggles from the crowd.

It's refreshing to play an unimportant dork in Kingdom Come: Deliverance
In the first hour of The Witcher 3, as world-famous monster hunter Geralt of Rivia I cut down a mighty griffin with nothing but a sword and some bolts. In Kingdom Come: Deliverance, as Henry of nowhere in particular, I teamed up with some local lads to throw poo at a man's house.

The land of delicious chocolate (Belgium) moves to ban 'Star Wars Battlefront 2'-style loot boxes
We learned last week that Belgium's gambling authority was investigating loot crates in Star Wars Battlefront II over concerns that they constitute gambling. Now, the decision is in, and the answer is a resounding yes, according to Dutch-language publication VTM Nieuws. The commission claims that purchasable add-on boxes, the contents of which are randomized, mix "money and addiction" and thus are a form of gambling.

Cyberpunk 2077 Will be Single-Player, No Hidden Catches - 'We Leave Greed To Others'
Last week an interview with CD Projekt RED’s studio president Adam Kicinski appeared to suggest Cyberpunk 2077 could be going the multiplayer or games as a service route, although it appears something may have been lost in translation. Now the official Twitter account has stepped in confirmed Cyberpunk 2077 will be a single-player, story-driven RPG with no hidden catches.

Zelda Fan Game Turns Breath of the Wild Prototype Into Thing You Can Play
Earlier this year, Nintendo showed off a 2D version of Zelda that it used to conceptualize some of the mechanics in Breath of the Wild. It was cool! No surprise, then, that a fan decided to recreate that prototype so that anyone could play it.

Video Games Are Better Than Real Life
On the evening of November 9, having barely been awake to see the day, I took the subway to Sunset Park. My objective was to meet a friend at the arcade Next Level. In size, Next Level resembles a hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant. It does indeed serve food — free fried chicken and shrimp were provided that night, and candy, soda, and energy drinks were available at a reasonable markup — but the sustenance it provides is mostly of a different nature.

Review: The NES Classic Edition and all 30 games on it
Nintendo is courting nostalgia for the holidays this year, like pretty much every year — but the NES Classic Edition, a palm-size recreation of the original console with 30 games built-in, rates highly on the nostalgia scale even for a company whose heart is stuck in the 1980s. It’s already a highly coveted item for millions of 30-something gamers, and make no mistake: This is a love letter to Nintendo’s oldest fans.
