Generally the are disliked and frowned upon, so editing the title is of huge help, you will also noticed it being upvoted more if the title isn't click-baity. As for lists with dozens of pages, yeah, no one likes those they are the asshole versions of "lists".
So far I'm still experimenting. While I'm not into click-baiting, I'm certainly up for more discussion. I'm trying to make the community become engaged by trying different things.
So far I've tried raw-posting the articles that turn up on my Feedly from the news sites that interest me. Those are getting some votes but not the comments I'd wish they had.
I've also started some discussions, those are working nicely, I feel like this place needs more of them.
I think a lot of us are still figuring out how this site is rolling and we haven't yet developed a taste for what is good and what not. Some people might think that the titles they post are bringing in more people, and only time will tell who is right, in my opinion.
I just avoid the "lists" kind of content anyways... they're just so cliche and usually pretty low quality. It would take something pretty special for me to post a "list" here.
Same here...And add to that, most of the lists end up being one item per page..No way am I clicking through 10 pages, and nore will I load a snap and expect readers to do the same.
I think the site itself is doing a good job discouraging that kind of thing (perhaps it can be made clearer). Tribe chiefs and moderators simply have to do their jobs to make the problem a minuscule one. As users, we can downvote such content, comment on it, and just let the post author know what's up.
