A question/suggestion about reposts

First post, so excuse my Snapzu ignorance!

I certainly appreciate the idea behind not letting an already-submitted URL be re-posted. But I also am certain that a lot of interesting stories were submitted ages ago, got lost in the woodwork, and/or have poor titles/descriptions that failed to get them seen by a larger audience (or by newer members). Additionally, the original submitter of some old links may have failed to post them into all of the relevant tribes (or newly relevant tribes might have popped up since submission)

Am I right in thinking that there is just no way to re-submit an old link, even to a different tribe? If so, I think that there would be a lot of merit to implementing some sort of ability to "bump" an old link or to just re-submit it (perhaps sharing XP with the old submitter?).

Is there already a good solution to this issue? Does the community think that re-posting is bad enough that one submission is the only chance any given link ought to get?

    Welcome to Snapzu!

For some context, here is an older thread discussing reposts: Reposts and general rules on downvoting reposts

I certainly agree that it is hard to see a very good article presented very poorly as a snap, so that it isn't noticed. In the case of important news/interesting stories, you can almost always find a different article about the same content if you want to create a different, better presented snap. You still run the risk of being downvoted for reposting, but I think most people when seeing a bad snap and a later very well done snap will hesitate to downvote the better one.

If you have created a new tribe and see old content that would be appropriate for it, until the feature of being able to "mirror" snaps into a tribe is available, you can always write the person who created the snap, or put a comment on the snap itself, asking if it can be submitted to your tribe. That's also a good way to let others know about your tribe, and what type of content you would like to have submitted to it.

You‘re right. There are valid reasons for reposting sometimes. So you know — Yes, you can submit links that‘ve already been posted. Happens frequently, if not regularly. The way to do it is to use the ‘Submit’ button in the upper right, then the ‘Upload image / Compose’ button to build the repost from scratch. Mind the guidelines, though.
