I know they are also wonderful and kind and caring but none of that is unusual in nature - wolves are caring, bears are nurturing, tigers are kind. but we are also the most horrendous of self involved monsters so much so that basic human decency is a shining beacon of hope and light and praised and shit instead of "that thing that everyone does because DUH!"
