I think about this a lot actually. Living in one of the more populous cities in the US, I don't see much of the stars unless I head out to the mountains. My thoughts were pretty negative about this at first. I would see the lack of stars as a symbol of us destroying the natural state of our planet. I decided to take it from a different angle, and think of it as a sign of progress. The light pollution, to me, now means that we have our own stars here on the surface of our planet. The city I live in is indistinguishable from a star at a distance, and now I take comfort in this idea. I've never shared this before because it seems a little sappy, but I guess sharing to the internet is a little different than people I know.
