While I've never used their products,I find this turn of events disappointing.
This reminds me of much of the Gnome desktop where they gradually removed all the best bits,causing many Linux users to use a different desktop.
Reducing functionality,in my way of thinking,is never a good idea.
My computers always look like a snakes nest and the more ports I can get,the happier I am.
