I have no words. After every single one of the previous attacks I kept on saying and believing that we can't blame muslims, can't fear refugees and immigrants, should keep open minds and hearts, and show the whole world that we are better than that. But this is it for me. Europe clearly doesn't have the capacity to ensure safety of it's own citizens. And it's only going to get worse. So I say close the borders and don't let anyone from "risk countries" in, even more so, send every non european who has even minor convictions, who has any strong beliefs, or who has lack of education back right to where they came for. I feel awful saying this, but right now we clearly don't have the resources to prevent attacks damaging our societies. I understand that there are many refugees and migrants who deserve a chance, but this is clearly not the right time and we should apologize and say a strict no.

From what I understand, most if not all of the big recent attacks were perpetrated by citizens in their full rights, who had been living in the countries where they did it their whole lives. Most have ethnicities from these countries, yes, but the two we had in Canada last year (or was it before?) were even made by white Canadians that had been brainwashed. What would you do about that? Send the whole population away and keep only the politicians? Who would take them if we can't even relocate one fifth of the actual refugees?

I understand your feeling, and I'm as much at a loss of idea as you are, but what you propose not only doesn't make sense, it's unjust and wouldn't help reduce such attacks in the slightest. If it did anything, it would provoke even more violent behaviours.

That is true - there is a risk of radicalised, brainwashed citizens. Yet, I would argue, that if quite simply every resident (not citizens) would be stripped of their residency rights if even the smallest crime is committed, if we would just honestly say that right now we can't accept any new migrants/refugees from risk countries as we are unable to guarantee safety of the society, we would then have more resources that could be spent on preventing brainwashing and terror attacks performed by those who are full citizens of EU countries.

I'm sorry, but I fail to see how that could help in any way...

What would help is making sure people in one's country can't fall as badly into poverty and despair as to search for such comforting as this radicalization seem to provide. Reduce the gap between extreme wealth and extreme poverty, provide a way for the poorest to provide for themselves and get a minimum of education, so they can lift themselves out of a state of despair. No matter where they are from, what colour their skin is or to what god(s) they pray, or don't pray. Once you've done that, help spread that to less advantaged countries, no matter where they stand on political or religious grounds.

Who would want to attack a country that takes arms against another? Who wound want to attack a country that provides food and funding for schools in your country, despite seemingly gaining nothing out of it?

Who do you think benefits from the current state of affairs? Who would benefit if we changed the way we think for what I propose?

Edit : Added everything after the first line.

Economics may play a part in some of this, but several suicide attackers have come from very good family backgrounds with plenty of education and money. This goes beyond education and poverty.

Yes, we also need better care and recognition for mental health issues. And remove taboos about inquiring about mental health issues (all of it : from professional exaustion to PTSD and all the rest).

And even with all of that (better economy, education and mental health care) there could still be isolated cases of people that would commit such seemingly out of nowhere acts of violence, but I firmly believe it would happen less often.

Anyway, we've already tried bombing people at the other end of the world and it didn't help much. I guess, if we are to waste so much money on false solutions that don't help, we could at least help many people in the process, whether it works or not i reducing violence.

Also, there are pilitical and diplomatic things we can do, to undermine funding of organized groups, just to add other not (or less) violent solution tentatives.

Have you asked yourself what attacks like this are meant to accomplish?

I know, you're right. I guess I've just reached the point where I've had enough, and my beliefs have started to crumble. If we can't prevent radicalisation and such acts of terror, people will want to take charge in any which way they can.

Character may be what you do the third and fourth time you're really scared. What kind of an example do you want to set?

That's good that Hillary wants to launch an intelligence surge to ferret out the baddies. Perhaps she can launch that from her daughter's Facebook account to keep it secure.

I read somewhere from a link here in Snapzu that these people are feral non domesticated humans and that's why they behave in such a barbaric fashion. If the EU had two brain cells to rub together, they would round up all the males between the age of 18 and 40 and deport them, and have mandatory birth control starting now for all of them.

Here are some other snaps you may like...
