Handguns and assault rifles are completely banned in Britain, and a very small percentage of the country's police officers even carry guns, something that has led to a lower number of fatal police shootings.

I don't know any definite numbers (iirc its closer than 77 cents to the dollar) but in any event, a lot of the wage gap doesn't come from systematic sexism in the workplace from an employer's perspective- meaning the employer intentionally is sexist and pays women less despite having equal or better qualifications than men and/or equal/better work put in. Stigmas affecting women also come in the form of the encouragement to take lower paying jobs- not because they're lower paying, but because they're "traditional female" roles (schoolteacher, nurse, etc.) as opposed to high paying jobs that men are encouraged to take- STEM is probably the most prominent role. Women are more likely to major in humanities due to encouragement, or lower paying business majors- like Marketing as opposed to Finance. That's one reason, among others, for a wage gap.

True. Even if 150k signatures aren't made, the 133k or whatever its at now shows a really large amount of people who are super angry about this.

Voat gronked up their life as a website, because the first wave of users were all really mean and hateful people- like FPH defenders, or when the news of an "SJW cabal" broke. The alignment of values among the users was repulsive. Combined with the fact that the people who run the site will stand by the free speech no matter what (respect for that, despite the material), and that they seem to be running their website on a potato battery and a PS3, Voat will probably fail.

You're forgetting lurkers, and the corporate promotional posts in IAMA and the like. Not to mention people don't make accounts, but read things like amas for famous people (Obama's AMA comes to mind) or get linked to it through news sites or imgur. There's a fraction of the site that isn't the community. But yeah, no, no reddit without redditors.

So, as a question: Are there any security issues involved in this? Like someone could hijack the arm and control it? Because that sounds like a mad security risk if it is hackable.

oh, and as a reply to your edit- i think the guy that made it was just getting it out there, to stake claim to it, I suppose. Just filling a need, and fixing it later, rather than letting it simmer for a while. Hope it does nothing but improve!

Yeah, that's what I meant. And I understand the post replies would be dreadful if you get incredibly popular posts- so why not have a "disable post replies" dealeo that wouldn't send the posts to your inbox?

can you side load the android app store onto your WP? I have a BlackBerry and I use "Snap" - an android store client for BB. I'd check into something similar, as a Snapzu android app has been made here
