TL;DR: Mobile browsing is better than ever. Tribes are getting more functionality and will be easier to discover. And finally, tribe leadership is getting more power to better organize, moderate, and spread/share the content posted in their communities.

2015 was a year unlike any other! A year filled with ups and downs – literally. It was definitely another successful year that we can consider a great step forward for the Snapzu community.

We are excited to introduce a number of improvements to managing and organizing the content that's posted, along with the content interesting enough to save. This update focuses on expanding the previous "Snaps Management" area to provide support for additional content types (ie. comments & text posts) as well as more sorting and filtering options. We have also dramatically improved the Snapzine functionality, as well as added the ability to save text posts and comments.

Over the past several weeks we have received a lot of really helpful feedback pertaining to the improvement of our voting functionality. We realized that due to a number of complex architectural and community factors the basic up/down voting approach is no longer the most effective way to leave accurate feedback, or for that matter help in the moderation of content.

The episode is long but has some great discussions about tech (mostly Google), but what stood out was that they also included a nice (somewhat lengthy) review of Snapzu starting at the 1:42 mark. Good to see Snapzu getting some love out there.

Today we are happy to introduce a number of design updates which enable us to further promote the amazing social aspects of our community. We decided to take a quick step back and correct a few glaring issues that some of our members were experiencing, before we further focus on upcoming functionality. This post will outline all changes in list format along with a few more upcoming tweaks we have planned over the next month or so.

It gives us great pleasure to announce that release 5.1 is now live! For those of you who are dedicated community leaders this update has been a long time coming and is just one of the many releases planned for this year! In this release we introduce an exciting new referral program for tribes as well as additional tribe related updates and general usability improvements.

Using other social media, snapzu seems notably lacking in the social department. Maybe I am out of the loop and haven't found the place where people discuss? Or is Snapzu simply more akin to pintrest or stumbleupon than reddit or facebook, more a place to post links than to talk? In 2014, our first entire year of operations, we welcomed over 5,000 new members and countless more casual readers and lurkers. Our members published over 80,000 snaps, posted 30,000 comments and placed well over 3 million votes. We realize this may seem like peanuts when compared to other established services, but after all, every community has to start somewhere. Our team is dedicated, hungry, and always looking to improve as we ever so diligently aim to raise the bar.

We have added an ability to post feed based status updates to quickly share what's on your mind. A number of usability issues and visual glitches were also corrected.
