Yeah, I don't think so. English is a terrible language to translate because it relies so much on idioms, most of which don't actually make sense. The government of Canada is experimenting with translation software for translating French / English and the result so far is gibberish (slated to go live this April...). And those aren't even as different as English and Japanese.
