There are so many levels of WTF in this. Did nobody push the emergency stop? Did the emergency stop not work? Was there an emergency override, and did anyone think of using it? There's no backup system that stops the elevator if there is a sudden change in load?
Who the hell runs hospitals and elevator companies in the south of Spain? Clearly a normal or high IQ is a disqualifying reason. I hope her family sues the shit out of the hospital, but given that this is Spain, their chances of any compensation are the very definition of zero.
