    You do realize that after the crusades, Christians took major steps towards pacifism.

    This is, at best, a meaninglessly vague statement with no provided facts to back it up. A closer look at the history of Christianity and clergy-prescribed (or tacitly approved) violence, in any era before during and after the Crusades, reveals a much more complex picture that defies such pat statements. Similarly, Islam has a long history of pacifism, as well as violence, that makes for an interesting comparison with Christianity's history of the same. Like most things in history, the evidence rarely supports broad comparative statements made in one sentence, especially when you're invoking more than a millennia of two global religious traditions.
