What's your favorite alcoholic beverage?

Friday is a good day to ask.

    Ooh. My time to shine.

    * 1oz Banana Rum

    * 1oz Coconut Rum

    * 1oz Midori

    * Pineapple Juice

    Add ice to highball (or suitably tall) glass. Add in the liquor, then finish filling the glass with Pineapple Juice. Sweet, tasty, great for summer. I had the drink at a restaurant once and loved it so much I figured out the recipe so I could enjoy it at home. Pretty much my go-to drink these days.

    If I'm out of ingredients, then I normally will mix up either a Amaretto Sour, Whiskey Sour, or <insert what I have on hand> sour.

    I'm also a huge fan of rekorderlig elderflower. Damned fine drink! Sadly, they don't sell it in the States. Had it when I was on vacation in Vancouver, BC.

      This sounds very tropical and delicious! Too bad I don't have any of those ingredients otherwise I would be making one in a couple hours.

      That sounds so good, I'm going to try it.

        It's so tasty it's probably should be banned in several countries. Very smooth, fruity. Yeah, it's a girly drink. Whatever. I'll get my 6'4" bearded ass back up and mix myself another.

    There is just no one right answer to this question for me. It depends on the mood, company, and setting. At clubs where dancing and some form of active participation I love rum and coke. At home and certain bars I like good craft beer. Whiskey is a good have-one-drink-alone at the end of a long day candidate. Ultimately though, good red wine (and by good I don't mean $$$, my favorite is a $10 bottle) is my favorite for all occasions I'd say.

      Agreed, I have a lot of favorites based on my mood. In Europe a good bottle of wine can set you back as little as 4 bucks. Wine is over priced in North America and its sad.

        On the other hand, you can pick up a decent wine from Whole Foods or Trader Joe's for a few dollars, and most people can't tell the difference anyway.

        If a particular wine tastes crappy, just drink until it tastes great!

        Yeah Friday!

          So I have heard. I am in a boring suburb where those stores are a few miles away and since I don't (embarrassingly for a 24 year old, can't) drive, the local liquor store down the street is where it's at for me haha.

        It is indeed. I rarely drink it anymore as in just a few years,it has doubled in price, even the brands made in my home state.

    Mango Martini: (needs a mixer and ice)

    - 1.5oz Bombay Gin
    - 1.5oz Absolut Vodka
    - 1.5oz Bacardi White Rum

    Fill the remainder with 3 equal parts Mango Nectar, grapefruit juice & orange juice. Shake it all up in the mixer and it should serve about 4.
    Note: Use more ice cubes if you want it less sweet.

    A concoction invented by old friends in college. We are all fans of Douglas' Adams Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (then still a trilogy) and they came up with their version of the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster:

    1 shot Johnny Walker Red
    1 shot bourbon
    1 shot tequila
    1 shot vodka
    3 shots gin
    add cinnamon
    add crushed ice
    add olive

    Drink, but very carefully.

    It was this drink that convinced me I'm too prone to addiction to safely continue drinking any alcohol in the future.

    Double IPAs are my favorite, although I do enjoy sour beers quite a bit. Flanders Red is on the top of that list.

    I'm very boring. I rarely drink but when I do, I want to get it over with so I prefer to just do shots of vodka when I drink.

    It's an almost exclusively Canadian drink called the Caesar, and it is like delicious alcoholic soup. If you like Bloody Marys, you might like this.

    - Lime wedge

    - 1 crisp Celery stalk

    - Celery salt

    - 4 dashes of Worcestershire sauce

    - Freshly ground pepper

    - 1 to 1 and 1/2 oz Vodka

    - 6 oz Clamato Juice

    - 2 dashes of hot sauce

    Rim a highball glass with the juice from the lime wedge and a combination of celery salt. Add the vodka and clamato juice. Season with pepper, Worcestershire and Tabasco sauces to taste. Stir well. Garnish with a celery stick.

    Another nice garnish is a pepperette or a thick slice of some kind of spicy salami, stuck on the rim instead of a lime. Mmm, meat and alcohol, what more could you want? Brb, gotta make myself one of these.

    Depending on the mood:

    - Old Fashioned with Sazerac Rye

    - Gin & ginger ale

    - Mead

    - Bavarian Hefeweizen cut with apple cider. Simply amazing.

    - Beer

    My regular drink is a whiskey ginger ale. Ginger ale is actually kind of hydrating compared to other mixers, so I can drink them all night without feeling nauseous or having a terrible hangover. I'm a creature of habit
