Indie smash hit 'Flappy Bird' racks up $50K per day in ad revenue
The enigmatic and oppressively difficult mobile game Flappy Bird has turned into quite the cash cow for Vietnamese developer Dong Nguyen. In an interview with The Verge, Nguyen revealed that the game, which has been sitting atop the App Store and Google Play Store charts for nearly a month, is earning on average $50,000 per day from in-app ads.

I bet we will see a plethora of new shitty games coming out. Everyone will try to build the next big hit.
Especially considering the flappy bird game is just a redesigned rehash of the old chopper flash game.
Replace helicopter with bird, replace a series of walls and towers with marioesque pipes and back drop, and you got flappy bird.

And I'm sure the name Flappy Bird helped in it's success since its so similar to Angry Birds. Everything seems to have aligned perfectly for this guy.
