I'm wondering if Snapzu's dupe detector is broken, because someone else posted this same link just a little before you did.

Yep, just noticed the other one was posted literally 5 minutes before this one.

It could be they were in the process of creation at the same time, and thus not technically dupes, but it does seem as if there's been a huge upsurge on reposts lately, especially with news sites recycling their top stories from earlier in the year.

It could be they are just ignoring the "It's already been posted" like they do on Reddit. Perhaps Snapzu should make it impossible to re post the same thing over and over again.

That's what the dupe detector does. It sends you to the snap that already exists instead of letting you create a new one.

I also want to know: Why are so many people voting this up instead of the original!!!!!

I was wondering the same thing! Perhaps the snap posted 5 min later just looks more appealing due to the introduction being longer and informative and the cover image being more attractive. I guess this little incident highlights the importance of a carefully chosen cover image and introduction? Its really the only explanation I have.

Both good points. And, now that we've had an interesting conversation on this snap, it would be a shame for the poster to unpublish it, as most of us do when we realize we've posted dupes.

Not to worry, I wont! I took me 10+ minutes to find a good pic as I wasn't a fan of the ones snapzu recommended during the posting process. Sorry if this caused a stir, but it looks like the extra effort paid off in the end.

Yep, end of the year is a time for recycled articles, although I noticed the same thing happening last year around the same time.

Very interesting read! Gotta keep that mindware up to date though.

Here are some other snaps you may like...
