I lived in Japan for a few years and this article reminds me of a day when I was walking beside the busiest road of my small town of Hikawa. Traffic was constant, but suddenly cars stopped and a big line of cars started to form. I looked backwards. Three very young children with yellow hats had their hands raised. They casually crossed the road. As they reach the sidewalk, they bowed their heads to the drivers. The drivers bowed back. Cars started moving again.

What a great story. I wish American's treated each other this way.
