As humans, we now have a real shot at living long, meaningful and healthy lives. But really, even if it is possible, who would want to live more than 200 or so years at the most. In my opinion things would just get boring, well, unless progress is so damn fast that nothing ever gets boring. One decade it's virtual reality, the next is space travel, inter-planetary colonization, managing your own planet, etc. Just to imagine what it would be like to live in 600 AD again, oh the boredom.
I'm more of a how horrible is it going to be when retirement age is 170 years.
I think with technology, most of us will be permanently retired soon enough. Just look at the robot apocalypse that's coming. We will be lucky if we had a spot on the lake to fish in 20 years :)
