Simple Charmander
I'm terrible at grass and had some issues with lighting, but here is a scene I made with my favourite starter, Charmander. A little post done in GIMP but apart from that it's all Blender.

This is some really great stuff. Are you interested in doing actual design work in the future?
I'd love to because I do enjoy it a lot. Would have to get an awful lot better first though. I'm a surveyor at the moment, one day I expect it will come down to the whole secure job/fun job question for me.
While I'm here, what is the deal with notifications? I don't seem to get notified when I get a comment or reply etc...
If you love doing it, you will surely get better by practice. It can be troublesome to deal with the secure / fun job. I guess you could do it as a hobby until you're confident enough and then maybe try for it.

Oh ok, and it just goes white? Is there a tribe/place where we can suggest improvements, ask for help or point out bugs?

/t/ideasforsnapzu is probably the most suitable for bugs / ui ideas.
The fire looks really good, and the grass isn't nearly as bad as you think. I would work on the posture though, it's really static and doesn't evoke the movements involved in spitting fire out of ones mouth. The lighting is a bit off too, maybe some light from the fireball and brighten up the dark side as well. The Pokéball looks really good as well, though I would scale it down just a tad. Composition is OK, but don't forget about the rule of thirds!
Ye I'm terrible at lighting because I haven't got round to reading/watching anything about it. It's one of the less exciting subjects for me but i know it's important.
I remember I did this one mainly to try out some compositing tricks in Blender, learnt a lot and hopefully will get better.
Keep it up, the more you practice and learn, the better you will be! It's great to have people contributing original content to the site as well, it's very much appreciated.
Also, if you submit the actual image instead of the imgur page, your image will show up in your snap as well!
Might want to let /t/pokemon take a look at it as well.
Or at least I would have... just found out you can only submit 3 links from the same site a day (in this case imgur). Not sure why, to stop spamming I guess.
