I'm surprised that FFXI wasn't mentioned. That had an amazing learning curve at the start. People who didn't want to put the time and effort into bettering their characters died by the roadside within the Lv10-20 stretch. I've only come back to playing it after playing pretty much straight for 10 years after NA PC release. The game as it is today is stupidly easy. they've made it that way to milk as much money out of "casual" players that still remain. It's sad in a way, it was one of the best MMO's out there for risk vs reward, now it's just silly.
I do remember that game. I miss the good old days of rage quitting!
They are shutting down the PS2/3 + XBOX360 services of the game next year. Main PC side of things will keep going for the moment. I'm currently trying to get 100% achievements on 360 for the game. Only 6 more to go.
