The US stopped this process. The UK is a massive fishbowl. You can't take a piss there without being spied on.
Whenever I discuss returning there to live, I'm always told it's not a good place to go back to anymore. I miss certain things, and I can never say never, but as I read more and more about things going on there I feel there's less chance a going back.
