Pouring up
This happens because of something called "entanglement". The polyethylene oxide is a very, very long chain molecule, and all of the molecules get tangled up. When one falls out, it pulls the others it's entangled with out of the beaker, and those pull the ones they're tangled with.

Where can I get my hands on this "polyethylene oxide"?
Call the producers of the movie Flubber.
Incredible
Crazy how that works.
