Everyone knows the reason why they do what they do. it's the same reason the tobacco industry has done all it's evil...Money.

Let me clarify one thing. I dislike the oil industry as much as everyone else. But this mess is not their fault. There is a government in this country, and that government is supposed to defend people's rights. Corporations have the single goal of making money, not protecting the environment, not protectIng the poor, not preventing global warming, not worrying about whether they're poisoning people or not, etc. Those things are the job of the government. The people who have to pay for these crimes are all the people in DC and State governments who have sold themselves to the corporations for money. They are the reason this is happening.

Of course, once you've thrown out the window all your morality just to get money, you will use whatever power you have to maintain the status quo. Which leads to the current corrupt plutochratic state. If this is not stopped somehow it will destroy the whole planet completely. But don't make the mistake of blaming the corporations for this. It's our elected officers who are selling our lives and our world out. They are the ones who need to pay.

That may have been true right up until they made a decision, as an industrial cartel, to conceal and deny the reality they knew full well they were profiting from. They knew, and once they knew, they set to work making sure nobody else would, for as long as they possibly could.

Shake the tree hard enough at Snapzu and you'll still find gadflies happy to tell you anthropogenic global warming is a hoax. It's an article of faith for them, like having safer working conditions means exactly the same as thing as Stalinism, and having child labor laws keeps infants and toddlers from making good money down the mines. You know, morons.

Sometimes when you make out as if everybody is guilty, it's a way of saying nobody's guilty. Here, though, I'd say there's blame enough for everyone to get theirs. Letting corporations off the hook because amoral profit-seeking is in their nature seems a bit like not holding it against The Devil just because he happens to connive and trick the unwary into eternal torment in the fiery pit now and again. Sure, that may be the nature of The Beast, but it's an explanation at best not an excuse at all.

I've been shaken, but not in the way one would think. I am disturbed by the obsfucation of scientific facts. I agree withhttp://snapzu.com/leweb/home and as you shake the tree...well a lot may fall.

I may not get out much, to speak of, but I know you do. You're a world traveler and think nothing of, say, living somewhere there may literally be dragons. Tell me: is it true, what people say, that wherever you go in the world everybody knows about man-made climate change even if they differ on what to do — and that essentially only the Republican Party in the U.S. has their fingers in their ears chanting "I can’t hear you I can’t hear you I can’t hear you” about it, or think that it's an elaborate hoax?

The climate is changing, worldwide. Air Pollution is human made right now. Human made pollution for air and water is a fact in this epoch. I still like humans...at least some of them.
