Microsoft is closing its Xbox Live Indie Games program
After nine years, Microsoft has decided to call time on its Xbox Live Indie Games service. Save Point: How Microsoft plans to make the Xbox great again

In its first eight years, the Xbox 360 established the company as a powerhouse in the games industry, and one of the best options for streaming apps like Netflix, Hulu, and Pandora. As entertainment trended away from physical media and cable subscriptions, the Xbox 360 felt like a test run for Microsoft’s plan to one day control the living room.

Microsoft ending Xbox 360 production
It's not going anywhere, though. Microsoft has stopped manufacturing new Xbox 360 consoles, the company announced today. "Xbox 360 means a lot to everyone in Microsoft," said Phil Spencer, head of Xbox. "And while we've had an amazing run, the realities of manufacturing a product over a decade old are starting to creep up on us." Spencer added that Microsoft "will continue to sell existing inventory of Xbox 360 consoles, with availability varying by country."
