    An Australian man has shot to fame after telling how - dressed only in his underwear - he chased a driver who crashed into a shop. Daniel McConnell leapt from bed after the smash in Brisbane, Queensland, in the early hours of Thursday. He said he followed the driver, who fled the scene, before giving police directions to apprehend him. "I was just chasing him in me jocks," Mr McConnell said in a TV interview viewed millions of times online.

    New York City reports first female-to-male Zika transmission

    New York City's health department on Friday reported the first female-to-male transmission of the Zika virus, which is most typically spread by the bite of an infected mosquito. Transmission of the virus occurred on the day that a woman in her 20s returned to New York from an area with active Zika transmission and had a single event of unprotected sex with a male partner. The man had not traveled outside of the United States in the prior year.

    Ebola is now an STD

    Months after a male Ebola survivor tested negative for the disease, he transmitted the deadly virus to a female partner through unprotected sex, a genetic analysis revealed. The Liberian woman, who became ill with the disease and died in March, is the first person known to contract the Ebola virus from sex, researchers reported this week in the New England Journal of Medicine.
