Major Porn Site Bans North Carolina Users
In protest of North Carolina's new anti-LGBT law, popular porn website XHamster.com has banned all computer users from the state. Since 12:30 p.m. ET Monday, the free porn-sharing site has blocked IP addresses from the Tar Heel State, citing a belief in equality for all. “We have spent the last 50 years fighting for equality for everyone and these laws are discriminatory which XHamster.com does not tolerate,” the site's spokesman told Huffington Post. “We feel this punishment is a severe one.

Missing 64-year-old female hiker found tied to a tree in North Carolina
A missing hiker found off a trail along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Buncombe County Thursday had been tied to a tree, according to emergency radio call recordings obtained by WLOS. In the recordings, a firefighter with the Reems Creek Volunteer Fire Department tells a dispatcher the 64-year-old woman is alive. “She’s not deceased at this time,” a rescue worker at the scene told a dispatcher. “She is tied to a tree. This is the one they were looking for.”

Maroon 5 cancels North Carolina concert over anti-LGBT law
Maroon 5 won't be going to North Carolina anytime soon. The pop band has canceled two upcoming shows in Charlotte and Raleigh due to the recent passage of the state's anti-LGBT law, the band announced on its website Friday. "This was a difficult decision for us to make as a band," the group said in the statement. "We don't want to penalize our fans in North Carolina by not performing for them, but in the end it comes down to what we feel is morally right."

North Carolina denies Tesla a dealership license
North Carolina denied Tesla Motors’ bid to attain a second dealership license in the state, saying the automaker must go through a third-party dealership group. The North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles ruled Friday that Tesla did not meet the requirements to become exempt from state law prohibiting manufacturers from owning dealerships. Tesla had hoped to open a second North Carolina dealership location at its existing gallery and service center in Matthews, N.C., a suburb of Charlotte. The company has one dealership in the state, in Raleigh.

North Carolina holds police camera videos from public record
North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper, the Democratic challenger for governor, said Tuesday that the state’s new law excluding police camera recordings from the public record goes too far. The law puts North Carolina among about a half dozen states that specifically exclude body and dash cam recordings from open records laws. Republican Gov. Pat McCrory signed it Monday. It allows a person shown in a video to ask police to view the recording, it but not copy it.
